On a shop that carries the file
Each page load sends the shop's name, the page's path and the address of the page you came from to Galley, the content service the shop already uses. A click on the button that starts checkout sends the shop's name and the product code. When the shop's order page confirms a paid order, it sends the product code, the amount, the currency and a 16-character fingerprint made from the checkout session. The session's own identifier never leaves your browser, and the fingerprint cannot be turned back into it.
Nothing is stored on your device: no cookie, no local storage, no identifier that lasts from one page to the next.
Advertising pixels
countline tells Meta, Google or TikTok about a purchase only when the shop runs jambline and you have said yes to it. Without that yes, nothing goes to any of the three. Withdrawing your yes in jambline stops every later message.
How Galley counts a visit
Galley counts a returning visitor once a day with a salted hash of the address and browser the request came from. It keeps the hash for that day only and never stores either part.
On this site
This page carries the same file and sets no cookie. Vercel hosts it, and its logs record each request's time, path and IP address for a short period under Vercel's own policy.
Who else handles it
Galley holds the daily counts. Vercel hosts this site and Galley. Meta, Google and TikTok receive a purchase only through jambline, after your yes, under their own policies.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@painted.app. We answer within 30 days. Because the counts carry no identifier, there is usually nothing in them that points to you.
How long
Galley keeps daily counts by page for as long as the shop uses it. The counts carry no personal data and are kept indefinitely.
Children
countline is a tool for people who run shops, and it is not offered to children under 16.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
